Our Environmental and Sustainability Policy
As Özpekler Seafood , while maintaining our corporate quality approach built on years of experience, we also take a pioneering role in the field of environment and sustainability. As a company operating in the seafood sector, we consider it a fundamental responsibility to minimize the environmental impact of our production, protect ecosystems, and leave a livable world for future generations.

Responsible Use of Natural Resources:
We increase resource efficiency by optimizing the use of water, energy, and raw materials in our production processes while minimizing waste generation. We separate our waste at the source, recycle whenever possible, and apply methods that extend the lifespan of natural resources. This approach reduces our environmental impact and supports sustainable production processes.

Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Production:
In all our activities, from fish egg and larva production to aquaculture, processing, and packaging, we prefer technologies and methods that minimize environmental impact. In our extruded fish feed production facility, which started operations in 2017, we implemented Turkey’s first high-digestibility pulverizer grinding system and twin-screw extruder system. This allows us to ensure an efficient, sustainable production process that is environmentally conscious from the very beginning.

Protection of Marine and Ecosystems:
Protecting marine and freshwater ecosystems is a fundamental element of sustainability in the seafood sector. We continuously analyze the impact of our operations on marine and terrestrial ecosystems and take effective measures to preserve the diversity of aquatic species and overall biodiversity. In our cage aquaculture management systems, we maintain loss and escape rates at the lowest levels to protect the natural balance of marine life.

Animal Welfare and Biodiversity:
We prioritize the living conditions and health of our fish, using high-quality and biologically beneficial feed during reproduction and growth processes. For broodstock, we provide an optimal diet including animal proteins, vitamin-mineral combinations, and n-3 HUFA fatty acids. This approach supports animal welfare and strengthens our sustainable production practices.

Energy Management and Climate Awareness:
We prioritize energy efficiency in all our production processes, optimizing resource use to reduce energy costs. We regularly monitor and report our energy performance and implement continuous improvement practices for more sustainable energy management. This approach reduces our carbon footprint and contributes to combating climate change.

Employee and Community Awareness:
Environmental awareness is an integral part of our corporate culture. We regularly educate our employees on environmental sensitivity and sustainable practices and share our environmentally friendly approach with the community. Additionally, we collaborate with our suppliers to extend environmental and social responsibility standards throughout the entire supply chain.
