Supplier Code of Conduct

As Özpekler Su Ürünleri , we expect our raw material suppliers used in feed production to comply with the rules of behaviour and to continue their activities with this responsibility as an organisation that sets itself the goal of a sustainable production that respects nature and the environment at every stage of feed production.

As Özpekler Su Ürünleri, we hereby state that we will cease purchasing from producers and component manufacturers who do not comply with the Supplier Code of Conduct and will not make any further purchases from them.

Özpekler company has the right to audit its suppliers.
Suppliers are obliged to share transparent information during audits.
Non-conformities should be reported and corrected immediately.
Warning and corrective action are requested for the first violation.
The contract may be terminated in case of repeated or severe violations.
In case of legal violations, the competent authorities are notified.

1. Have all the necessary legal licenses and permits.

  • Suppliers must have all the necessary licenses, permits, and certificates to carry out their activities.
  • Documents must be kept upto-date and can be presented at audits.

2. Comply with applicable labor laws and regulations
  • All national and international labor laws, regulations and standards must be complied with.
  • Legislative changes should be followed and compliance should be ensured.

3.Not to engage in or support forced labor, slavery, forced labor, or human trafficking.
  • It is forbidden to employ employees against their free will.
  • Human trafficking, slavery and bonded labor are strictly prohibited.

4.Protecting children and young workers.
  • Child labor should not be employed.
  • Young workers should be employed within legal limits and in safe jobs.

5.Not to discriminate against its employees.
  • There should be no discrimination based on race, religion, language, gender, age, disability, political opinion, etc.
  • The principle of equal pay for equal work should be adopted.

6.To provide a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Occupational health and safety of employees should be protected.
  • Necessary personal protective equipment should be provided and occupational safety trainings should be provided.

7.To respect the right to organize and the right to collective bargaining.
  • Employees' right to join unions and collective bargaining should be respected.
  • The exercise of these rights should not be interfered with.

8.Transparent contracting of employees.
  • Written and legal employment contracts should be made with employees.
  • Contracts should clearly state the description of the job, wages, working hours, and rights.

9.Paying employees at or above the legal minimum wage.
  • Employees must be paid at least the statutory minimum wage.
  • Wages must be paid regularly, on time and in full.

10.Prevention of excessive working hours
  • Working hours must be in line with applicable laws.
  • Overtime must be voluntary and paid at legal rates.

11.To have disciplinary practices that respect the dignity and health of the employee.
  • Physical and psychological punishment is prohibited.
  • Disciplinary procedures should be fair, transparent and respectful.

12.Providing effective worker complaint mechanisms.
  • Systems should be established where employees can submit their complaints securely and confidentially.
  • Complaints should be dealt with quickly and fairly.

13.To provide safe, appropriate and hygienic worker accommodation.
  • Accommodation offered to employees should be safe, clean and healthy
  • Conditions should be provided to meet basic needs

14.To contribute to the protection or development of the social and economic well-being of local communities.
  • Activities must not harm local communities.
  • Social responsibility projects that will increase the welfare of local people should be supported.

15.To respect the rights, cultures and traditional lands of indigenous and tribal peoples.
  • The way of life and land rights of indigenous peoples must be protected.
  • The consent of these peoples should be obtained while carrying out the projects.

16.To be compliant with applicable environmental laws and regulations.
  • Environmental regulations should be complied with and activities that will harm the environment should be avoided.
  • Necessary environmental permits must be obtained.

17.Using water responsibly.
  • Water consumption should be reduced and efficient use should be ensured.
  • Pollution of local water resources should be prevented.

18.Managing waste responsibly.
  • Waste should be separated and disposed of properly.
  • Recycling should be encouraged.

19.Responsible handling of wastewater.
  • Wastewater should be processed in treatment plants.
  • Wastewater discharge into natural resources should be prevented.

20.Using energy responsibly and monitoring Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
  • Energy-saving technologies should be used.
  • Greenhouse gas emissions should be measured and reduced regularly.

21.Disclosing the presence of Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) or GMO ingredients of each product to all buyers of the product.
  • Suppliers must transparently disclose GMO ingredients in their products.
  • Misleading or incomplete information should not be provided.

22.To disclose the active compound and inclusion levels (in mg or g/kilogram of product) of the antibiotics or other added medical feed additives for each product to all buyers of the product.
  • All antibiotics and medical additives used in products must be documented.
  • Buyers must be provided with accurate and complete information.
